Stylist Jade Ford is an LA stylist currently living in Brooklyn, and received her greatest inspiration from her time in New York, absorbing the color, creativity and chic of the New York fashion scene and translating it into her styling point of view.  She clearly enjoyed her tour of the Pop Up Showroom, choosing pieces from 6 designers to create her looks.  Her first look was a sophisticated mix of perfectly tailored cigarette pants by Daniela Vlad in a European wool blend, a silk blouse by Danilo Gabrielli (perfectly setting off the model’s auburn hair and porcelain complexion), and the faux fur fun jacket by Koren Fung.  Fun fur goes high end!  Zack Lo shoes were a great compliment to the ensemble.  (although not “in competition”)

Jade’s second look went a little more avant-garde, using another of Koren Fung’s innovative fabric combinations in her leather and cotton top with an African print skirt from Mali designer Ava Paris’ “baby doll” collection.   Adding complimentary color to the neutral palette, Jade chose sterling silver and citrine earrings by Moonlight.

Koren Fung’s fall collection is called “Arctic Edge,” drawing its inspiration from the colors and textures of the Arctic North.  Koren mixes hard and soft fabrics to express the landscape and the inhabitants of the region.   Daniela Vlad brings her European tailoring to her eponymous collection, designing chic, contemporary business attire for the woman who wants to stand out in the boardroom and after 5.   Ava Paris is a popular collection of African print dresses and separates, for fall featuring the “baby doll” collection, inspired by the designer’s past creating clothing for children’s dolls.  Moonlight Jewelry is created from recycled sterling silver and semi-precious stones, with Victorian and contemporary influences.
